AS3 Driver Training

Our Story

Born From Crisis

AS3 was not founded to fill a market gap.
It was founded because people were dying.

The Story

Mexico, 2000s

The Environment

80%

of all attacks happened in vehicles

Mexico faced a crisis of kidnappings and extortions. Security professionals were being targeted during routine transfers. The vehicle was not just transportation. It was the kill zone.

Organizations paid large sums to train their drivers with former military and law enforcement. They believed they were learning techniques that would keep their people alive.

They were paying for smoke.

What they were told

“Advanced
Techniques”

Instructors taught techniques they had never performed. Confidence was transferred without competence. Graduates left believing they could do things that were physically impossible.

What actually happened

Dunning-Kruger
Effect

The security industry had been captured by false confidence. Those who had never pushed a vehicle to its limits were teaching others to do so. The gap between belief and capability was lethal.

Pablo Ortiz-Monasterio

Crisis
Management

Specialized in criminal crisis management, helping families navigate the worst nightmares Mexico was producing. He saw firsthand what happened when drivers made mistakes. He knew what failure looked like.

Patricio Ortiz-Monasterio

Racing
Precision

A professional racing driver who had participated in the most demanding driving courses in the world. He could see what others could not: the techniques being taught did not work. The physics were wrong.

One understood the consequences of failure. The other understood the mechanics of control.

Together, they built AS3.

2004 - 2010

Six Years of Research

To build something that actually worked, they needed to understand why everything else failed. They studied under experts who understood vehicle dynamics at a fundamental level.

They understood that practice does not make perfect. Only perfect practice makes a perfect skill.Just as living in a cave does not make you a geologist.

Years of Operations

From multinational corporations with over 100 drivers to individual security practitioners, AS3 has become the standard against which driver training is measured.

The Organization

Many key members have come and gone, but the organization stands on its own, transcending any individual who has helped forge its reputation worldwide.

We reserve the names of those great minds who have helped us build AS3 from the ground up. The work speaks for itself.

The question is not who trained you.

The question is whether you can
survive what they did not prepare you for.
